CABSAT 2027 Video Guide: How Media and Broadcast Exhibitors Should Film Their Stand
At CABSAT, your visitors are broadcast engineers, production heads and integrators. They notice flicker on an LED wall, a soft image on a monitor or bad audio straight away. This guide covers how to film screens and demos properly, which videos to make, a three-day plan, and how to use the footage after the show.
CABSAT 2027 at a glance
CABSAT is the Middle East’s event for broadcast, satellite, content creation and media technology. It runs alongside SATEXPO, and in 2027 GISEC Global is also on at the same venue on the same dates.
- Show dates4–6 May 2027
- Opening hours10:00–17:00, last day until 16:00
- VenueDubai Exhibition Centre, Expo City Dubai

Details from the official CABSAT site and the official GISEC site. Always confirm hours and your hall with the organiser.
The show focuses on content creation and virtual production, media technology with cloud and IP workflows, and pro AV and immersive environments. That means a lot of screens, LED walls and live demos, which are exactly the things that are hardest to film well.
Test camera settings against your screens during build-up, record clean feeds from your systems wherever you can, film demos before doors open or in quiet slots, and use clip-on mics for anything with speech.
Filming LED walls and screens without flicker
This is the biggest technical risk at CABSAT. LED walls and monitors refresh at their own rate, and if the camera does not match it, footage shows flicker, rolling bands or moiré patterns. To an audience of broadcast engineers, that looks careless, even if your product is excellent.
- Test during build-up. Ask your crew to test camera frame rate and shutter against every screen on your stand before the show opens, while your technical team is there to adjust settings.
- Share your screen specs. Give the crew the refresh rate and processor settings for your LED walls and monitors in advance.
- Record clean feeds. Where you can, record the signal straight from your system instead of filming the screen. It is sharper and avoids flicker entirely. Agree the output format and connections with the crew beforehand.
- Mix both. The best demo videos combine a clean feed of the interface with camera shots of people using the product, so viewers see both detail and context.
- Watch reflections. Glossy panels and glass pick up hall lights. Small changes in camera angle usually fix it.
For virtual production and XR demos, the same rules apply, but tighter. Plan these shots with your technical lead, and allow time for retakes.
Six videos media tech exhibitors should film at CABSAT
For a general list that works at any show, see our exhibition stand video guide. These are the ones that matter most at CABSAT.
Hardware demos
Cameras, encoders, switchers, LED walls and audio gear shown working, with close-ups of controls and outputs.
Workflow films
Cloud, IP and playout workflows explained by your engineer, using clean screen recordings.
Virtual production showcases
LED volume and XR demos, filmed with matched settings so the result looks as good on video as it does in person.
Customer and partner interviews
Broadcasters and integrators explaining why they use your products. Strong proof for this technical audience.
Launches and announcements
New products and partnerships revealed on your stand, filmed from two angles for press and LinkedIn.
Daily social edits
Short vertical clips of demos and the busy stand, posted while CABSAT is still on.
A three-day CABSAT filming plan
CABSAT is shorter than most big UAE shows, so every hour counts. Here is how to spread the filming.
| When | What to film | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Build-up | Screen tests, clean feeds, product close-ups | Time to match settings with your technical team |
| Day 1, before doors | Stand walkthrough, hero product shots | Clear aisles, no background noise |
| Day 1 | Launches, announcements, busy-stand shots | Biggest crowds and press attention |
| Day 2 | Live demos, workflow films, customer interviews | Steady traffic, time for longer demos |
| Day 3, morning | Any missed shots and retakes | The show closes early on the last day |
Live demos run at fixed times. Share your demo schedule with the crew, and keep one quiet slot each day for anything that needs a retake.
Exhibiting at CABSAT in May?
We film hardware demos, workflow films and interviews at Expo City, with flicker-free screen capture.
Sound on a loud show floor
Many CABSAT stands play audio, and some are selling audio equipment. That makes clean sound harder than at most shows.
- Use clip-on mics for anyone speaking, rather than relying on a camera microphone.
- Pause stand audio for a few minutes while recording interviews, if your setup allows.
- Record audio products directly. If you are showing audio equipment, capture its output from the source, not through a microphone in a noisy hall.
- Book a quiet room for longer interviews, if your stand or the venue has one.
Expo City logistics
- Allow travel time. Dubai Exhibition Centre is in Expo City Dubai, a long drive from central Dubai. Plan for the crew to arrive well before doors open.
- Register crew passes. Add crew names through the exhibitor portal before the deadline, especially if they need access during build-up.
- Read the exhibitor manual. Check the rules on filming, lighting and power on your stand.
- Reserve power and space. Ask your stand builder for a socket and a lockable corner for equipment and recorders.
- Exhibiting at GISEC too? GISEC Global runs at the same venue on the same dates in 2027, so one crew can cover stands at both shows with good planning. See our GISEC video production page.
Using your CABSAT footage after the show
- Send demos first. Agree that short product demos are edited first, so sales can send them to the people they met within days.
- Build a demo library. Workflow films and hardware demos stay useful all year on your website and in sales calls.
- Arm your partners. Resellers and integrators can use the same footage in their own presentations.
- Add subtitles. Arabic and English subtitles make the same video work across the region.
- Cut for social. Short vertical versions of demos perform well on LinkedIn, where your technical audience spends time.
