GITEX Global 2026 at Expo City: A Video Guide for Exhibitors
GITEX has a new home and a new month. This guide covers what changes for filming at Expo City Dubai, which stand videos tech exhibitors should plan, a day-by-day filming schedule, and how to turn the footage into pipeline after the show.
What changes for GITEX Global 2026
If your team has filmed at GITEX before, most of that plan needs redoing. The show has moved from Dubai World Trade Centre to Expo City Dubai, and from October to December.

A new venue means new halls, new build-up rules and longer travel for crews based in central Dubai. December is also the busiest month in Dubai’s event calendar, so video crews book up early.
Book your crew once your stand is confirmed, film demos and walkthroughs before doors open, and send edited videos to your leads in the week after GITEX, while the conversations are fresh.
Decide what your GITEX videos are for
GITEX is expensive. The videos are how the stand keeps paying back after 11 December. Agree the job of each video before you brief a crew:
- Sales follow-up: a short demo for every lead your team scanned, sent with the first follow-up email.
- Launch coverage: footage of product announcements and partnership signings for press and LinkedIn.
- Investor outreach: for startups at Expand North Star, a pitch video to send to investors met during the week.
- Brand presence: a recap film that shows your company as an active player in the region’s tech market.
Five videos tech exhibitors should film at GITEX
Tech stands are different from other trade show stands: the product often lives on a screen. That shapes what is worth filming. For a broader list that applies to any show, see our exhibition stand video guide.
Software or product demo
Your presenter on camera plus a direct screen recording, edited together so the interface is readable on a phone.
Stand walkthrough
A two-minute tour of your stand and solutions, filmed while aisles are empty.
Customer and partner interviews
Visitors who already use your product, explaining why, in their own words.
Launches and signings
Announcements and MoU signings filmed from two angles, so press and social teams both get usable shots.
Founder pitch
For startups: a 60-second pitch recorded at the show, with the GITEX setting visible behind you.
A four-day GITEX filming plan
Most exhibitors don’t need a crew on all four days. This plan shows where each video fits best; one or two focused days usually cover it.
| When | What to film | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Build-up | Finished stand, close-ups of hardware, LED wall tests | Empty halls and time to set cameras for your screens |
| Day 1, before doors | Stand walkthrough, leadership message | No crowds or background noise |
| Day 1 and 2, peak hours | Busy-stand shots, live demos with visitors, launches | Shows real traffic and energy |
| Day 2 and 3, afternoons | Customer and partner interviews, founder pitches | Quieter aisles, people have time to talk |
| Each evening | One short social edit | Gives people a reason to visit tomorrow |
Filming LED walls, screens and software demos
GITEX stands are built around large screens, and screens are where most stand videos go wrong.
- LED walls can flicker or show bands on camera. Shutter speed and frame rate need setting for your specific wall, so test during build-up, not when visitors arrive.
- Record screens directly. Filming a laptop or monitor over someone’s shoulder rarely produces a readable interface. A direct screen recording, cut alongside the presenter, does.
- Use clip-on microphones. Tech halls are loud with demos and music. Clip-on mics keep speech clear for demos and interviews.
- Light faces separately. Bright screens behind a presenter turn faces dark. A small light on the presenter balances the shot.

Logistics for filming at Expo City Dubai
- Read the new exhibitor manual early. Build-up times, access and filming rules at Dubai Exhibition Centre may differ from past editions at DWTC. Share the filming rules with your crew.
- Register crew passes. Video crews usually need exhibitor or contractor badges, especially to enter before doors open. Add their names through the exhibitor portal well before the deadline.
- Allow for travel time. Expo City is in Dubai South, a long drive from Business Bay or Dubai Media City in morning traffic. Plan the crew’s arrival around set-up, not doors opening.
- Reserve power and storage. Ask your stand builder for a socket and a lockable corner for camera cases and batteries.
- Get consent. Ask visitors before interviewing them, and tell them where the video will be used.
If you also speak or sponsor a session in the conference programme, plan that filming at the same time. Our conference videography page covers session recording.
Using your GITEX footage after the show
The value comes in the fortnight after GITEX, when buyers are deciding who to follow up with.
- Ask for demos first. Agree that product demos are edited and delivered before the full recap, so sales can send them in the first week.
- Personalise follow-ups. A short clip of the demo a lead actually saw on your stand is more memorable than a brochure.
- Post a recap on LinkedIn. Buyers who missed GITEX still see that you were there and what you launched.
- Reuse it all year. Demo videos work on product pages and in sales decks long after December.
