Gulfood 2027 Video Guide: How Food Exhibitors Should Film Their Stand
Gulfood 2027 moves to March and runs across two venues. This guide covers which stand videos food and beverage exhibitors should plan, a five-day filming schedule, how to make food look good under hall lighting, and how to turn the footage into buyer follow-ups after the show.
Gulfood 2027 at a glance
Gulfood usually opens in late January. In 2027 it runs in March instead, and it keeps the two-venue format, with halls at both Dubai World Trade Centre and Dubai Exhibition Centre at Expo City Dubai.

Details from the official Gulfood site and Austrade’s Gulfood 2027 listing. Always confirm hours and your hall with the organiser.
With thousands of suppliers competing for the same buyers over five days, most visitors remember only a handful of stands. Video is how you stay in the conversation after they fly home.
Confirm which venue your stand is in, book a crew for your busiest one or two days, film products and walkthroughs before doors open, and send edited clips to buyers in the week after Gulfood.
Decide what your Gulfood videos are for
Gulfood buyers are importers, distributors, retail chains and food service groups. Each video should do one job for one of them:
- Buyer follow-up: a short product clip for every buyer your team met, sent with the first follow-up email.
- Distributor recruitment: a range overview your sales team can send to new markets where you have no partner yet.
- Retail listings: clean product footage that category managers can use when reviewing a new listing.
- Launch coverage: new products and distribution agreements announced on your stand, for press and LinkedIn.
Six videos food exhibitors should film at Gulfood
Food is judged by how it looks. That makes Gulfood different from most trade shows, where the product is a machine or a screen. For a general list that applies to any show, see our exhibition stand video guide.
Product hero shots
Close-ups of your products and packaging, lit properly, for websites, sales decks and retailer presentations.
Chef and tasting demos
A chef preparing a dish with your product, or a tasting with buyers, filmed with clean sound and a finished-plate close-up.
Buyer and distributor interviews
Partners explaining why they stock your products, in their own words. Strong proof for new markets.
Range walkthrough
Your sales lead taking viewers through the full range on the stand, filmed before doors open.
Launches and signings
New product reveals and distribution agreements, filmed from two angles for press and social media.
Daily social edits
Short vertical clips of the busy stand and tastings, posted while Gulfood is still on.
A five-day Gulfood filming plan
Few exhibitors need a crew for all five days. This plan shows where each video fits; one or two focused days usually cover it.
| When | What to film | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Build-up | Finished stand, product hero shots | Empty halls and time to set up lights for food |
| Day 1, before doors | Range walkthrough, leadership message | No crowds, no background noise |
| Days 1–3, peak hours | Tastings, chef demos, busy-stand shots, launches | Shows real buyer traffic and energy |
| Days 2–4, afternoons | Buyer and distributor interviews | Quieter aisles, people have time to talk |
| Each evening | One short social edit | Keeps your stand visible during the show |
The busiest buyer days are usually early in the week. Ask your team when key meetings and tastings are booked, and put the crew on those days.
Exhibiting at Gulfood in March?
We film product close-ups, tastings, buyer interviews and launches at both Gulfood venues.
Making food look good under hall lighting
Exhibition hall lighting is flat and often too warm or too cool. Food filmed without help looks dull on camera, which is the opposite of what you want buyers to remember.
- Bring lights for food. A small soft light beside the product brings back texture and colour. Ask your crew to light every product shot.
- Set aside fresh samples for filming. Food on display for hours dries out. Keep a fresh plate or pack ready for each filming slot.
- Film steam and pours early. Hot dishes, pours and sizzling pans look best in the first seconds. Plan these shots with the chef before cooking starts.
- Watch reflections on packaging. Glossy packs and bottles pick up hall lights. Angling the pack slightly usually fixes it.
- Show hygiene. Gloves, clean surfaces and tidy prep areas matter to food buyers. Keep them visible in every shot.
- Use clip-on microphones. Cooking demos and busy aisles are loud. Clip-on mics keep the chef’s explanation clear.
The same techniques apply outside trade shows. For studio product films, see our product video production service.
Two venues: logistics for filming at Gulfood
- Confirm your venue and hall. Gulfood splits sectors between Dubai World Trade Centre and Expo City Dubai, at opposite ends of the city. In 2026, beverages, dairy, meat and seafood were at DWTC, and World Food and grains were at Expo City. Check your exhibitor portal for 2027.
- One venue per crew per day. Travel between the two venues takes a large part of the day. If you have stands or meetings at both, plan separate days or separate crews.
- Register crew passes. Video crews need exhibitor or contractor badges, especially to enter before doors open. Add names through the exhibitor portal before the deadline.
- Check the filming rules. Read the exhibitor manual for rules on filming, lighting and power on your stand, and share them with your crew.
- Reserve power and space. Ask your stand builder for a socket and a lockable corner for camera cases and lights.
- Get consent. Ask buyers before interviewing them, and tell them where the video will be used.
Using your Gulfood footage after the show
The value of the footage comes in the weeks after 19 March, when buyers compare suppliers.
- Ask for product clips first. Agree that short product and tasting clips are delivered before the full recap, so sales can send them in the first week.
- Personalise follow-ups. A clip of the product a buyer tasted on your stand is more memorable than a catalogue.
- Add subtitles. Gulfood buyers come from many countries. Arabic and English subtitles make the same video work across the region.
- Build a distributor kit. Combine the range walkthrough and partner interviews into one video for new markets.
- Reuse it all year. Product footage works on your website, marketplace listings and retailer pitches long after March.
If you also exhibit at Gulfood’s sister shows, the same footage plan applies. See our pages for Gulfood Manufacturing and Private Label Middle East.
