What it covers
What TV commercial production covers.
A TV commercial, or TVC, is a short paid spot, usually 15, 30 or 60 seconds long, made to sell one idea to a wide audience. Today the same spot also runs as YouTube pre-roll, in cinemas and as social ads, so it is planned for every screen from the start.
Producing a TVC means turning an approved idea into a finished spot that runs to the exact second and passes the technical checks of each channel and media owner.
- i.15, 30 and 60 second spots
- ii.TV and cinema masters
- iii.YouTube pre-roll and 6 second bumpers
- iv.Vertical cuts for social and digital screens
Formats
One shoot, every length and screen.
A campaign rarely runs as a single spot. We plan the versions you need before the shoot, so every cut has the shots it needs rather than being trimmed from the long version.
| Version | Length | Where it runs | What we plan for |
|---|---|---|---|
| TV spot | 30 sec | UAE and regional TV channels | Cut to the exact frame count the channel asks for |
| Short TV cut-down | 15 sec | TV and online video | One message, planned in the script, not cut later |
| Cinema spot | 30–60 sec | Cinema screens | Graded and mixed for a large screen and cinema sound |
| YouTube in-stream | 15–30 sec | YouTube and online video | Brand and message before the skip button |
| YouTube bumper | 6 sec | YouTube | A single image and line, shot on purpose |
| Social vertical | 6–15 sec | Instagram, TikTok and Snapchat | 9:16 framing on the shoot day, captions on |
| Digital out-of-home | 5–15 sec | Malls, Sheikh Zayed Road screens, airports | Silent, readable from a distance |
Ways to work
With your agency, or direct with your brand.
Some clients arrive with an approved script from their agency. Others come with a product and a launch date. We work either way.
- i.
With an advertising agency
Your agency owns the idea and the client relationship. We bid on the approved script, propose a director and treatment, and run the production from the pre-production meeting to final delivery.
- ii.
Direct with your brand
No agency on the job. We develop the concept and script with your marketing team, agree the media plan it has to fit, then produce the spot and all its versions.
Production stages
How a TVC is produced in Dubai.
Most of the work happens before the cameras roll. Each stage ends with a sign-off, so the shoot day runs to a plan everyone has already approved.
- i.
Bid and treatment
You receive a production estimate against the script, with the director’s treatment showing the look, casting and locations.
- ii.
Pre-production meeting
The PPM, where client, agency and production agree the cast, wardrobe, locations, props, shot list and schedule.
- iii.
Shoot
Director, director of photography, producer and crew on set, with the client and agency able to watch from the monitor.
- iv.
Offline edit
The story is cut and timed to length, with rough music and graphics, and reviewed in agreed rounds.
- v.
Online and finishing
Colour grade, sound design and mix, final graphics, legal supers and any visual effects.

Budget
What goes into a TVC budget.
Every commercial is quoted on its own scope, because two 30-second spots can need very different productions. A single-location shoot with one actor is a different job from a car commercial on a closed road.
Send your script or brief and we will quote a fixed price for the agreed scope. Our guide to what affects video production cost explains the main factors.
- i.Director and creative treatment
- ii.Cast, voice artists and usage rights
- iii.Locations, permits and set build
- iv.Cameras, lenses, lighting and grip
- v.Edit, grade, sound mix and music licensing
- vi.Number of versions, lengths and languages
Industries
Commercials for the sectors that advertise most in the UAE.
Each sector has its own rules, seasons and visual language. We plan the production around them.
- i.
Real estate
Off-plan launch spots and brand commercials for developers, often mixing live action with aerial and CGI shots.
- ii.
Automotive
Car commercials that need closed roads, tracking vehicles, precise lighting and careful handling of the product.
- iii.
Hospitality and tourism
Hotel, resort and destination spots built around guests, places and experiences.
- iv.
Food and beverage
Restaurant and FMCG commercials with food styling, product close-ups and slow-motion pours.
- v.
Retail and fashion
Seasonal campaigns and product launches with models, styling and fast turnarounds.
- vi.
Ramadan and seasonal campaigns
Spots for Ramadan, Eid, National Day and the summer season, planned well ahead of the air date.
Not a broadcast campaign?
Need an online ad rather than a TV commercial?
If your video will only run online as paid social or a website film, a smaller crew is often a better fit. See promotional video production for campaign and launch videos, or social media video production for regular content.
FAQs
TV commercial production FAQs.
i.How long does TV commercial production take?
It depends on the script, casting, locations and finishing. Development and pre-production usually take the most time, the shoot itself is often one to three days, and post-production follows. Share your air date and we will plan the schedule back from it.
ii.Do we need a permit to film a commercial in Dubai?
Usually, yes. Shooting a commercial in a Dubai public space generally needs a permit from the Dubai Film and TV Commission (DFTC), while private locations such as malls, hotels and offices need the owner’s permission. We plan both during pre-production.
iii.Can you produce a TVC from our agency’s script?
Yes. We can work from an approved agency script. We send a production bid and a director’s treatment, then run the production with the agency and client signing off at each stage.
iv.Who owns the rights to the actors and music?
Talent and music are licensed for an agreed use: the media, the territory and the time period. We agree these with you before casting, so the spot can run where and as long as you plan.
v.Can you deliver to the specs of UAE TV channels?
Yes. We deliver masters to the technical specifications supplied by each broadcaster, cinema or media agency, along with the digital versions for online placements.
vi.Can you make Arabic and English versions of the same spot?
Yes. We plan language versions before the shoot, with Arabic and English voice-overs, supers and end frames, so both versions are finished together.
