Sharjah events

Culture, education and family first.

Sharjah is known for its cultural, academic and family events, and its public standards on dress, music and behaviour are more conservative than Dubai’s. Good event video here starts with knowing those standards and filming in a way that suits them.

Where we film

Sharjah venues we work in.

  • i.

    University City

Academic conferences, graduations and research events at the universities and colleges on the east side of the city.

  • ii.

    Al Majaz and Al Qasba

Waterfront venues for launches, receptions and outdoor cultural evenings, including the Al Majaz Amphitheatre.

  • iii.

    Expo Centre Sharjah

Conferences and corporate events alongside the trade shows. For stand videos, see our Sharjah exhibition page.

  • iv.

    Hotels and offices

Company town halls, annual dinners and award nights at corniche hotels and offices around the city.

Local standards

Filming the Sharjah way.

  • i.

    Dress and music

Sharjah has a public decency code, and our crew follows it on location. If your edit has music, we check it suits the event and the audience, especially for government and cultural clients.

  • ii.

    Family and women’s sections

Many events have separate seating or women-only sessions. We agree with you in advance whether these are filmed at all, and by whom.

  • iii.

    Prayer times and Ramadan

Programmes often pause for prayer, and Ramadan shifts the timings. We plan coverage around the schedule so no key moment lands in a break.

Permits

Filming permits in Sharjah.

Shams, Sharjah’s media free zone, says business shoots in the emirate need filming authorisation, with separate permits for public land, private places and drones, and estimates three to four days for approval. A private event in a hotel or your own office is usually simple, but outdoor public venues and aerial shots must be approved first.

  • i.Private venue: usually the venue’s own approval
  • ii.Public land: filming permit needed
  • iii.Drones: separate aerial permit
  • iv.Allow a few working days before the event

Getting there

Close to Dubai, slow at rush hour.

The roads between Dubai and Sharjah are among the slowest in the country at peak times, so morning call times are set early and the crew is ready before guests arrive. An editor travels with the crew and cuts the first reels on site using On-the-Spot Editing.

  • i.

    What you receive

Highlight films, full recordings of talks and ceremonies, clips per graduate group, department or award where needed, and short reels during the event.

  • ii.

    Event types

Conferences, graduations, company days, annual dinners, cultural evenings and site openings. See also gala and awards videography.

FAQs

Sharjah event video FAQs.

i.Do you film graduations in Sharjah?

Yes. We can record the full ceremony and cut short clips for the university’s channels.

ii.How do you handle women-only sessions?

We agree with you in advance whether they’re filmed and who films them, and the crew sticks to that plan on the day.

iii.Do we need a permit to film our event in Sharjah?

Inside a private venue, usually not much beyond the venue’s agreement. Public locations and drones need a permit, which takes a few days.
